Are You Reflecting for Success?

by Danielle Zack on July 27, 2010

As busy entrepreneurs, we tend to spend most of our time working and trying to get things done. We get so caught up in what we have to do that we forget one of the most important parts of being an entrepreneur, reflection. Why is it so important to reflect? Watch the video below….

We are our best teacher if we only take the time to reflect and learn from our self. Make sure you are not only working hard, but observing what works and what doesn’t work for you. Most of all, don’t forget to celebrate you accomplishments! Be proud of your growth and the path that has led you to where you are today. :)

Believing in Your Success,

Hey Danielle,
Nice Video. Loving and admiring your own achievements sets up for high self esteem. And of course one should n’t be too hard on himself/herself for the mistakes committed. We can’t change our past.So be forgiving on the mistakes. Thanks for the video.

Hi Danielle,
Excellent information and video. I tend to be a bit to hard on myself. Because of your blog, from this day forward, I am going to start “celebrating my accomplishments”

Thanks,
Rusty

Hi Danielle! Your posts are always so thoughtful and thought-provoking. The children seem to have no problem celebrating themselves. Why do we, as adults, struggle so much with celebrating ourselves? For one thing, I come from a generation where we were constantly told not to get “too big for our britches”. If i was proud of an accomplishment, I was scolded.

As an adult I think that we should celebrate ourselves, but it is tough to overcome those old tapes. Looking at it as reflection and an assessment of our work, makes the transition easier. Thanks for sharing these critical strategies.

Hi Danielle,
What a great message! You are so on point – we are our best teacher because we best know our desired outcome. I love those moments when our children give us pause to consider life’s truths – thanks for sharing your moment.

Hi Danielle,

Thanks for talking about this. Reflection really is an important aspect of personal development – I love wat you said about “learning from ourselves”. We really are the best teacher .. we know what needs to happen, or do, we just need to listen and pay attention …

Ever reflect on a project that was making money only to find out you need to redo it are worse it’s just that time of year when thinking are slowing down and your product niche will come back around when the kids are back in school and people get tried of the 9 to 5 grid and again start looking for options.

Seems since I run a promotional service I have to wait until they the customer wants to buy more time out of the day then business picks up. Reason during the summer some people seem to take there online business into hobby mod.

Don’t know if anyone would agree or disagree with me on this but reflecting I rack my brains to the point of a headache trying to figure out why what worked two months ago don’t work now.

Danielle,
You captured a great insight by reflecting on a skill your 2-year old had mastered that we apparently forget with age. I know you are right since I remember hearing this wisdom from the great Jim Rohn and others. It’s so nice to know we can learn so much just be sitting down regularly and deciding what we did well and what we can do better. It’s definitely free but very valuable education if we only see it as valuable and worth our undivided attention!
Dave and I very happy to have you as a new member of TSA and the first of your content (your relaxed persona and presence shined through in your video, great job!) that I’ve seen makes me know I’m looking forward to more and getting to know you better. Welcome to TSA!

Danielle,
Your understanding in fulfillment exceeds most others’.

When we reflect, we re-enter a state of gratitude, which acts as a launch pad for us to reach new heights.

Great video…I need to make a video of my kids for them. You made me step back a minute and realize that I need to spend some extra time with the kids this week, even when I’m busy. When they are around, I’ve always tried to spend my time with them and these last two weeks I’ve been spending too much time working. Reflecting on why I want to work at home is spending time with my family when they are here…time to get back to it. Thanks you are a great inspiration.
